Maybe a top 15 would leave more space ... :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13713343.post-1130128752844956102005-10-23T23:39:00.000-05:002005-10-23T23:39:00.000-05:00Fair enough! The power metal stuff is good, but I find the classic to be, uh, classic, the thrash to be a turning-point in metal, the black to be the raw/evil side, and the death metal to be the technical stuff. As for progressive metal, I love Opeth, and I do regret not including "Blackwater Park" on the list. This is a "living" list, so it can change rather quickly. Toodles!Lefty Metalheadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01946213189874461978noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13713343.post-1130118528161083592005-10-23T20:48:00.000-05:002005-10-23T20:48:00.000-05:00I have to say, I don't quite agree with this list,...I have to say, I don't quite agree with this list, but that's probably because I am much more on the progressive and power metal side of the spectrum! Replace some of those bands like Immortal with Queensrÿche, Helloween, and the like I could agree. Still, I think Maiden is number one, just because I haven't heard a song of theirs yet that I don't like, let alone an album.SiliconMessiahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04763638157657871351noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13713343.post-1130043789522794892005-10-23T00:03:00.000-05:002005-10-23T00:03:00.000-05:00Thanks dude! Metallica dared play faster and heavier at a time when every band either wanted to sound like Iron Maiden or wear lipstick and eyeliner. While Sabbath was first, Metallica perfected heavy metal.Lefty Metalheadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01946213189874461978noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13713343.post-1129970615436454002005-10-22T03:43:00.000-05:002005-10-22T03:43:00.000-05:00Right on! Metallica have totally changed the way metal is percieved/played/respected throughout the world and although Sabbath was first, i think the impact of Metallica was far, far greater. Very respectable list....Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
