Federal Gay Marriage Ban dead?

It's looking less and less likely that the federal gay marriage ban will pass the Senate.

In related news, the state of Alabama voted to ban gay marriage by a 4 to 1 ratio.

UPDATE

The measure failed to pass. It didn't even muster 50% of the vote.

It was dead from the beginning. I saw the roll call vote earlier today. There's no way this is passing. It's nothing but a waste of time.

Agree with lefty, This was nothing but a "call for attention" by the Republicans due to the upcoming Congressional Elections.

I also think this was intended to alleviate the criticisms the Administration is getting recently because of the heap of events that have happened in Iraq.

IT's just one more group to scapegoat. Thank God for some good news.
