End Game?

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stepped up the verbal lashing of Israel today. Today's comments covered the annihilation of Israel and some seemingly dismissive of the Holocaust.

In a conference in support of Palestine Ahmadinejad stated that "Like it or not, the Zionist regime is heading toward annihilation, The Zionist regime is a rotten, dried tree that will be eliminated by one storm."

Further elevating his world image to one similar to Santa Claus, Good ole Mahmoud had this to say about the Holocaust and the restoration of the Israeli state "If such a disaster is true, why should the people of this region pay the price? Why does the Palestinian nation have to be suppressed and have its land occupied?"

Unfortunately, no literate people with a familiarity of the Middle East were present to ask him questions about the history of Palestine, such as currency used, past rulers, etc.

At this point, I seriously doubt that we'll make it more than 5 years without seeing some massive assault launched from the Middle East - be it against, Israel or the US... To clarify that, I'm not talking assault on the level of the Gulf War, Afghanistan... I'm thinking Normandy or God Forbid, Hiroshima.

I actually agree with you, somewhat. We need to act quickly to prevent this asshole from doing something stupid. If we do not strike soon, Israel will, and that will destabilize the region even more. Iran is a hell of a larger threat than Iraq has been since before Desert Storm. Unfortunately, our military is spread too thin to succeed in any large scale attack, because our psycho President and his evil henchmen are stuck running in circles in Iraq.

Bignews, I don't think that Bush is a psycho, his main problem seems to be similar to that of Harding. He's delegated authority to those who are not qualified for the job.

I like Rice and Chertoff, but they aren't qualified for their positions. Powell wasn't a bad choice, but he's gone. Rumsfeld is an asshole. I don't like him at all and he needs to go...

I'm not sure I see a reasonable fix in Iran whether or not we were in Iraq. The UN will continue to prove how useless it is a la Team America: World Police. Piece of shit movie, but they nailed the UN and Hollywood with that one.

It doesn't take a lot of imagination to understand why everyone in the world has a problem with them owning nuclear weapons.

The only good thing about them generating nuclear power now is that if we have to do the deed, we can make it look like an accidental meltdown, and avoid the armageddon standoff.

BND, I don't think anybody likes Bush anymore (or at least as much as we used to), but the psycho tag fits the Iranian leader much more precisely.

The LAST person who should be trusted on making ANY decisions on Iran is Failure Bush, or Dickhead Cheney. They squandered every bit of trust with their illegal Iraq war, now they're trying to say that IRAN is a threat too. I'm not buying it.

Israel has weapons, but Iran isn't allowed? Makes no sense at all.
